Alpha-tocopherol

...

Alpha-tocopherol is the most active and well-known form of vitamin E in the human body, primarily recognized for its potent antioxidant properties. Like vitamin E in general, alpha-tocopherol has been explored as a potential intervention for autism spectrum disorder (ASD) due to its ability to protect cells from oxidative damage, which some theories suggest may play a role in the condition. However, the evidence supporting the use of alpha-tocopherol specifically for autism is limited and inconclusive. Please see the entry for Vitamin E in this tool.
