EIBI Early Intensive Behaviour Intervention

...

EIBI is a form of Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) which is a widely used, evidence-based therapy for children with autism. It focuses on improving specific behaviors such as social skills, communication, and academic performance through positive reinforcement and data-driven approaches. ABA aims to encourage desired behaviors and reduce those that may hinder learning or daily functioning. Each child’s program is tailored, with goals that can range from basic skills, like eye contact, to more complex behaviors, such as peer interaction or daily living skills. Organizations like the American Psychological Association and the Autism Society support ABA as a primary treatment for autism due to its strong research base. Studies suggest that early, intensive ABA can yield significant developmental gains that can extend into adolescence and adulthood. ABA is also known as Early intensive behavioral intervention (EIBI) for young children when applied in the early developmental period at infants in an intensive form.
