Isotherapy

...

Isotherapy is a form of homeopathy that involves using substances that are identical or very similar to the causative agents of a disease in their potentized (diluted and succussed) form to treat that same disease. Also named Isopathy. It is based on the principle of "like cures like." When it comes to autism , isopathy is a controversial and not widely accepted treatment approach. Isopathy follows the principle of "similia similibus curentur" (like cures like), suggesting that a substance causing symptoms in a healthy person can, in small doses, treat similar symptoms in a sick person. In the context of autism, proponents might use diluted preparations of vaccines, heavy metals, or other substances believed (controversially) to contribute to autism symptoms. Some believe it helps detoxify the body from harmful substances implicated in autism. There is no scientific evidence supporting the efficacy of isopathy for autism. The claims are largely anecdotal and not backed by rigorous clinical trials. Isopathy lacks empirical support from well-conducted scientific studies. The principles of homeopathy and isopathy are not consistent with current understanding of biology and medicine.
