Dayly life therapy

...

Daily Life Therapy (DLT) is a therapeutic approach developed by Dr. Katsuhiro Kuroda in Japan. It is designed to support individuals with autism by focusing on daily living skills and fostering independence through structured routines and activities. The goal of Daily Life Therapy is to improve functional skills and enhance the quality of life for individuals with autism and other developmental disorders. Five fundamental principles of Daily Life Therapy are : instruction that is group-oriented; routine activities that are highly structured; instructional techniques that center on learning through imitation; a method for reducing children's levels of unproductive activity through rigorous physical exercise; and a curriculum that focuses on movement, music, and art. This is a very demanding and time consuming therapy. Successful implementation requires consistent application and support, which can be challenging for some families and caregivers, also effective application of the method often requires specialized training for therapists and caregivers. While Daily Life Therapy is practiced and valued in Japan, there is limited research and empirical evidence supporting its effectiveness outside of Japan. More studies are needed to validate its benefits in different cultural and clinical contexts.
