Vision therapy involves exercises and activities designed to improve the eyes' ability to work together and process visual information. It often includes the use of lenses, prisms, filters, and computer programs. The scientific research on the effectiveness of vision therapy specifically for autism is very limited. Most studies that do exist are small, lack rigorous methodology, or are anecdotal in nature. Proposing eye therapy as a way to improve eye contact, promoting social contact, reading, cognitive functions and other core symptoms of autism can be considered as a scam.
