Fluconazole

...

Fluconazole, is used to treat fungal infections such as aspergillosis, histoplasmosis, and onychomycosis (fungal nail infections). It works by inhibiting the synthesis of ergosterol, a crucial component of fungal cell membranes. Some theories suggest that certain neurological or behavioral symptoms in autism might be linked to gut health or fungal overgrowth. However, these theories are speculative and not supported by robust scientific research. There is no clinical evidence indicating that antifungal medications like Fluconazole have any effect on core autism symptoms. Fluconazole can have side effects including nausea, abdominal pain, liver enzyme abnormalities, and potential interactions with other medications. Long-term use or high doses can have more serious effects, including liver toxicity. Using Fluconazole without a fungal infection could expose individuals to unnecessary risks and side effects. See the "antigungal agent therapy" in the Autherapies web for mor information.
