Yoga

...

Yoga, a practice combining physical postures, breathing exercises, and meditation, is sometimes promoted as a complementary therapy for children with autism spectrum disorder (ASD). Proponents claim that yoga can help improve motor skills, reduce anxiety, and enhance emotional regulation in children with autism. While some benefits have been observed, the scientific evidence for yoga as a treatment for autism is still limited, and parents should approach it as a complementary rather than primary intervention. Some children with autism may find certain aspects of yoga, such as physical touch or specific sensory stimuli in a yoga environment (e.g., lighting, sounds), overwhelming. Modifications may be necessary for these children.
