Prism glasses

...

Prism glasses alter the visual perception of individuals with autism and are thought to improve behavior and challenging vision-related symptoms as a result. Supporters believe that some individuals with autism suffer from distorted perception and compensate using abnormal movements and postures such as head tilting. Prism glasses aim to ameliorate perceptual distortions and aid visual development. There are few rigorous studies directly examining the effects of prism glasses on children with autism. While some anecdotal reports suggest improvements in behavior, attention, and social engagement, these reports are not sufficient to establish the effectiveness of prism glasses as a treatment for autism. Prism glasses are designed for specific visual conditions, and using them for children who do not have clear visual processing issues could lead to discomfort or other unintended effects, such as dizziness, headaches, or blurred vision.
