Medical University of Silesia was established in 1948 as the Medical Academy in Bytom. it has evolved to become a world-renowned institution for medical education and innovation. With over 75 years of experience, the University has honed its educational offerings across five faculties in Katowice-Ligota, Zabrze, Bytom, and Sosnowiec, as well as six clinical hospitals. The University's commitment to innovation and new technologies ensures students have the opportunity for comprehensive development and the pursuit of their passions.

The Medical University of Silesia has consistently been a trailblazer in the field of medical education. In 1996, it gained accreditation from the United States Department of Education and established an English language division. This division now boasts a diverse student body hailing from countries across seven continents, including the United States, Sweden, Norway, the United Kingdom, Israel, Saudi Arabia, and South Africa.

In addition to its rich history, the University stands at the forefront of virtual education and medical simulation. Students have access to state-of-the-art facilities, such as three Medical Simulation Centers, funded by the European Union. These centers feature over a dozen high-fidelity simulation rooms, including intensive care, operating rooms, and delivery rooms. The mannequins used are highly realistic, providing a valuable learning experience for students who can also practice in virtual operating rooms and dental offices, as well as use the Virtual Patient application.

Furthermore, the Medical University of Silesia embraces modern teaching methods, such as e-learning, enabling some classes to take place remotely via an online platform. This flexible approach to learning complements the university's dedication to offering a diverse range of programs and opportunities for students from around the globe.
