Welcome to the training course on evidence-based therapies for Autism, developed by the AUTHERAPIES Team. The course has been designed for all,
especially for people with autism, their families, and professionals or students involved in the work with autism.
The main objective of this training is to provide a solid and accessible knowledge of the different therapies and treatments available for autism. Throughout the course, we will explore the fundamental principles underpinning these therapies, analysing their effectiveness and applicability in different contexts.
The importance of making informed choices in the treatment of autism cannot be underestimated. By understanding the fundamentals of evidence-based therapies, participants will be able to choose and recommend the most appropriate treatments, tailored to the specific needs of each individual. This course aims not only to empower people with autism and families but also professionals, encouraging a collaborative approach to the care and well-being of those living with autism.
Through interactive activities, case studies and discussions on recent research, we aim to create an enriching and dynamic learning space. We invite you to actively participate, share your experiences and ask questions that will allow us to delve deeper into this important topic.
This page has been designed to provide resources and tools tailored to the different needs of those seeking to better understand autism. We know that knowledge on this topic can vary depending on the context and experience of each person, so we have organised our modules into three levels of understanding: Easy to read, Intermediate and Advanced.
Autism is a broad and complex topic that affects people in different ways. By offering content structured according to level of understanding, we aim to make the information accessible to everyone, regardless of their previous experience. Each level is designed to respond to the specific needs of each group:
This module is designed for those who are just beginning to learn about autism, whether they are persons with autism, family members just learning about a loved one's diagnosis or people looking for a clear and understandable introduction. Here you will find simple, straightforward explanations and visual aids to help you understand the basics of autism.
Intermediate Level: This module is for those who already have a general knowledge of autism and are looking to deepen their understanding of key concepts, explore more detailed approaches or learn practical strategies. It is useful for persons with autism and both family members who want to better understand the experiences of people with autism and professionals or students who need additional tools for their practice.
Advanced Level: This module is aimed at those who have advanced knowledge of autism, such as persons with autism that have previous knowledge, well trained family members and health professionals, educators or researchers. It addresses more complex issues, current research, advanced theories and specialised approaches to the management and support of people with autism.
